More Visual Flavour From Last Weekend's Handmade Bicycle Show In Bristol

If this photo didn’t already have a caption, we’d have run a caption competition.

The former Great Western Railway Terminus, now named Brunel’s Old Station, was designed in 1841 by one of the world’s most famous architects, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. This year it was chosen as the marvellous location of Bespoked Bristol – UK Handmade Bicycle Show 2012.

And such was the event’s success that almost before the doors had closed on Sunday evening, visitors were already anticipating with eagerness next year’s installment.

The show seems to be positioning itself as a European answer to the NAHBS, and veterans of the earlier days of the American show were certainly put in mind of its singular flair here in Bristol.

Shurely Shome Mishtake? Proof that the “F” word doesn’t always have to preclude a derailleur.

The crowd of savvy enthusiasts that showed up to Bespoked was also one of the many good indications that it is well on the road to emulating its transatlantic counterpart.

Our new travel bags were there in the flesh.

Brooks of course as one of the most emblematic UK manufacturers was showcasing some of the latest additions to the range, garnering praise and interest from visitors to our pavilion in equal measure.

We were also delighted to sponsor three awards respectively :

Best Track Bike was won by Demon Frameworks and Best Utility Bicycle won by Mercian at their first attempt to build a Ladies town bike.

Lord have Mercian! It was worth the trip from Derby for the prize winning frame builders.

Local builder Robin Mather scored twice , winning both “Best in Show” prize and, rather importantly, the “Public Vote” prize , likewise sponsored by Brooks.

Bristol’s very own Robin Mather was a big winner at Bespoked.

Sadly, there was no prize category for Most Ubiquitous Make Of Saddle at Bristol Bespoked this year, but by the same token there are no prizes for guessing who’d have won it. Maybe in 2013!

I would like to show my electric Lite Speed someday at a show , the bike has a B17 on it with 40000 miles on the seat, and the bike has over 100000 miles on it. I only went to electric in the past two years since I own an Ebike kit electric bike dealership.
