Win a Dashing Bike!

Most of the bikes on display at the current Dashing Bicycle Show will be given away at the end of the tour by way of the “You and Your Dashing Bike” photo contest!

To enter for your chance to win one of the bikes, simply photograph yourself and your bike around the time of the event, dressed naturally in your “Guv’nor Best”, and submit your entry to the Brooks Stories and Photos section (by selecting the Dashing Bike Photo Contest) with a few words about why you feel a dashing bike is essential to you. Whereafter a jury will decide the winners based on an old-fashioned vote.

Brooks & RCA Video

The Brooks Works at Smethwick is well-known as a popular port of call with people whose passions revolve around the human-powered and two-wheeled. Barely a week passes without some writer, photographer or documentary filmmaker rolling by.

And so it was that Ben Wilson and André Klauser, designers and tutors, took one of their classes from the Product Design Department of London’s Royal College of Art to visit us at the factory in Smethwick last year and given a crash course in all things Brooks and challenged a simple brief titled “What would Mr Brooks do next if he was alive today?”.

A few interesting ideas and products came out, so click here to see the BROOKS // RCA Design Collaboration 2012 Video.

2013 Bugle Goes to Press

Another year has cycled past furiously and so it is time once again to tally up annual events in the form of our beloved company newspaper, The Bugle.
Over 150,000 copies of the publication are printed each year in our hope to preserve a lasting record of the goings-on at the world’s Oldest and Most-Respected Maker of Saddles.

In the 2013 edition, witness the spread of retro cycling events worldwide, see the tremendous output of the Brooks collaboration with the Royal College of Art or follow the travels of Andrew and Adam as they make their way from Cornwall to Caithness.

Deliveries begin in February, but you can also read a digital version of The Bugle online.

LEJOG Panniers Video

Brooks Saddles are loved the world over by long distance cycling travelers. These hardy men and women of the road choose Brooks to ensure that their distance attempts are not thwarted by such an ironic thing as sitting. Because of this, since many years going back to our catalogues of the early 20th century, Brooks has had a close relationship with these adventurers, and has been producing other accessories as well to assist in the transportation of one’s belongings. In fact, since the modern bicycle was invented.

Our newest product video will help introduce you to the John O’Groats and Land's End Travel Panniers. Named after the famous “Land’s End to John O’Groats” cycle route which traverses Great Britain between its furthermost extremities. These bags are 100% waterproof and will take you there and back again.

The Cambridge Rain Cape

Here we introduce the new lightweight John Boultbee Cambridge Rain Cape. The perfect accompaniment to sopping short-jaunt errand-running, sodden city-commuting, and other saturated cycling endeavors one wishes to undertake without resorting to the bother of rain pants or galoshes.

The new cape has a number of features:
-stowable on the bike or in the bag
-extremely light PA fabric
-waterproof up to 10,000 mmH20
-adjustable hood to accommodate helmet
-magnetic tapes to connect to handlebar
-reflective piping
-leather straps to attach it to your bike
